Hey Jim, great post, all those details and associations. I never liked Big Bird, for some reason, but I did feel sorry when I saw a crucified Big Bird at the Heidelberg Project.
Surveillance cameras are interesting story devices. There's that scene in Fight Club, for instance. I love word associating, very evocative. Cheers, E'
Love the word association, Jim, and your illustration of how it guided you through the post. A trick of the trade, but one that leads us on interesting journeys! Cheers, R
I think that's the difference in our age groups. When I see Alfred I see Tippi and I can only think of one thing and it is the following: Alfreds' penchant for casting only blonde female actresses and then making it clear to them that he expected some sugar once cast. How bout dat one? Great post. Looooong Day!MW MW
The challenging thing about word association is keeping it real. I could've taken it down the path of the Detroit Tigers and stories of "The Bird," but truth be told, I've only been to one baseball game.
Sure had fun writing this one, and yeah, shit happens. --Jim
Funny! I think inmates in my class would point out the bird poop on their heads like a prize. They're always telling me much more than I'd ever want to know about them in unglorious details.

After his shower, have him do a book report on "Jonathan Livingston Seagull." Write what you know.

Bird, bird, bird. Bird is the word.
