FORWARD DIVE, PIKE POSITION

"I’m not a very nostalgic person. I don’t really look at the past and, you know, summon up regrets or self-congratulations. It just is not a mechanism that operates very strongly in me."
—Leonard Cohen

"If I could only live by Cohen’s words, I might be happier, I might be more productive, I might continue forward with a few more stories and far less regrets. Then again, maybe I’ll continue fishing all summer long. Maybe that’s what I need. Maybe then I’ll discover what makes me tick."

Jr,

Perhaps Cohen was wrong, Maybe if more people looked to the past they might very well learn and create a better future.

Course, the past is taken with a grain of salt, but so are most things in life. Me ... I like being nostalgic, I like the idea of thinking back, retouching, and visiting places that have left maybe nothing more than a scent that lingers. Nothing wrong with that.

By the way, fishing is a great way to relax and find oneself. But hey, if you get a nice trout or something good ... let me know?

Lastly, I won't close my curtains to things new, just on things I know are not possible.

Hey, JR, a picture of you smiling. Geewits will be happy :-)

I don't look at the past either. I'm not a great one for nostalgia. I don't save mementos, etc. The past is the past.

Well, Leonard's Canadian and they don't regret as much ;)

Pike -- I remember those in Minn. Looks like a cousin to the gar, a nasty fish in Florida and those parts. Some dude I was fishing with cracked one over the head with his paddle, in the boat. I was not amused, what with gators in the surrounding area.

Better fishing here, yes?

Better cocksman than coxwain I say.

I don't know if it's true, but I've heard it said that fishermen make lousy lovers.

OK, OK. I fish too.

...So how come my wife has run off with a Hungarian who beats her often?

Attila's got my Tillah!

I took a class once called "Making Peace With Your Past". It sucked while going through it, but I'm so glad I did...for the most part, I've been able to put my past to rest.

Cute picture, JR!
